General Analysis of the Tablet of Union

The Tablet of Union is the Great Tablet that is the primary source of all manifestation, of all that exists upon our physical world. It is a region of strong causative forces that creates the entire universe of all living beings. It is said that this Tablet begins at the surface of the Sun and continues upward and outward in all directions until the highest subplane toutches the farthest reaches of the solar system. The Tablet of Union is formed from the 52 squares that join the four elemental tablets into one large 25 x 27 square grid. Twenty of these squares are used to form the Great Ophanic Seal known as the Tablet of Union. On the Great Cross itself, these twenty characters are repeated twice in mirror symmetry fashion. This leaves 12 characters for which we have no accurate attribution. On some of Dee’s manuscript versions, we can read the addition of P, A, R, A, O, A, N and 5 L’s. Paraoan is formed from the reversed letters on the Tablets themselves and is the 92nd Governor, ruling the interior of the planet. The 5 L’s, symbolic of the five Elements, contain the L, also shown in reverse of the Tablets, used to energize the Tablet of Union names when used as the Governors of the Abyss. The other four L’s are a screen to cover the secret name of the 93rd Governor, formed from the unused letters on the Sigil of Truth, which rules the space from our atmosphere out to the orbit of the moon.

The Truncated Pyramid Model of the Tablet of Union

The twenty squares of the Tablet of Union can easily be concerted into pyramids. This tablet is shown above. Conversion is in accordance with the model seen previously.

The Opening Ritual of the Tablet of Union

The Mandala of the Tablet of Union

The Mandala of the Tablet of Union

The illustration above shows the basic Tablet of Union Mandala. Essentially, this mandala consists of a truncated pyramid with a central pentagram. As we know, a pyramid “represents the magical universe as a graduated expression in time, space, and form of BEING from the highest spiritual spheres to the lowest material globes.” (Schueller, An Advanced Guide to Enochian Magick, p. 42)

The Mandala of the Tablet of Union for Pathworking

The illustration above shows the mandala as it is normally used for pathworking the Tablet of Union, which is itself on the spiritual plane. These are two steps down on each side of the pyramid, each of which contains a letter. These are the Enochian letters for A (on the first step) and D (on the second step), letter associated with Brow Center (chakra) according to Enochian Yoga (See Table 19 in Enochian Yoga).

The Mandala of Chaos

The Tablet of Chaos Mandala, symbolic of the lowest sphere of the magical universe ruled by the forces of chaos (which are directed by karma). It consists of a truncated pyramid with a central vortex pf three and a half counterclockwise turns (according to Kundalini yoga, the goddess Kundalini has the form of a snake with three and one half coils located in the root center or muladhara chakra).
