“And Thou Shalt be Mighty in Things of War.”
-A Phrase Attributed to the Tunnel of Hemethterith

In Frater 414’s communion with Hemethterith, the Qliphothic archdemoness explained that she “She brings energy from Chokmah to Tiphareth and the pentagram is a key.” She gave Frater 414 two key pieces of advice, telling him that he never speaks, and explaining, upon his denial of the observation, “You talk, yes, but you do not speak. When you talk, talk with authority, and say something worth listening to; cut out all the bullshit and horseplay.” The second piece of advice was uttered as a parting word: “Shut up and listen!”

Hemethterith brings about magickal ascendance and presides over self-transformation in general. She can help the magickian perfect her personal talents and engender the renewal of life. She can impart strength of will to the sorcerer, empower her subpersonal and transpersonal chakras, and hone the subtle senses. She can make the celebrant into a darker person, weaning away cowardice and complacence, and grants her the blessing of sight through new eyes.

Hemethterith presides over the breath of life. She has been attributed to “the Formulation of the Flaming Star” and the “Supernal Sulphur purifying by fire.” She has been called “the whore,” “the mother,” “wet nurse,” and “the whore,” as well as “the Dweller Between the Waters” and “the Dweller Beneath the Firmament.” She rules over the Sorcery of Knowing Cycles, which Alexander Winfield Dray defines as “understanding our hybrid of new and old cycles” and “receiving the secrets of the old cycle sorcerers and integrating them into the Voltec Current.” Her name literally translates to “the Herd” and the disease to which she is imputed is apoplexy—a result of cerebral hemorrhaging.

Hemethterith can release the sorcerer from the old world of flesh. She can teach the witch to perceive the possibilities around her and behold the wonder of the new world. Hemethterith liberates the sorcerer from the limitations of the causal/physical realm of matter, guiding her to leave the past behind as a sacrifice as she learns to look into the new world.

Hemethterith presides over telepathy, instructing the magickian in the ways of mind control and mind reading. She may open the human mind to communion with the galactic life wave and brings about rebirth. She teaches the witch to fight away mind control and gives knowledge regarding astrology, with one writer specifying her tutelage of “Qliphothic astrology,” whatever that may entail (definitely Dabih and Algol, and I’m sensing Arcturus).

Hemethterith imparts teachings of the manners in which the sorcerer may create demonic thoughtforms or egregores through brutal rituals of sexual witchcraft. She presides over change, sacrifice, justice, destruction, and regeneration, and she can defend the magickian or his allies from slander and character assassination.

Despite the fact that it is generally recorded that Hemethterith manifests as female, she adopted a male or male-seeming manifestation in her appearance to me, being a bald male with grey skin and two, long, curved, thin-ish horns.

Hemethterith can be said to preside over the fifteenth or twenty-fifth tunnel depending upon whether or not the witch begins counting with the ten Qliphothic spheres/husks. The Hebrew word for husk, here being “Qlipha,” is interpreted by black magickians to mean “Wombs.”

Linda Falorio describes:

A need to work with the energies of Hemethterith is signaled by encountering belief systems which hold distinctions between the sacred and the profane, asserting that the sacred is beyond our reach and understanding, and that thus by extension, the mundane cannot be holy. Here we may encounter the espousal of scientific materialism, along with lack of inspiration, and of spiritual ideals, and lack of true connection with the stellar life web.

The powers of Hemethterith lie in the recognition that human consciousness creates the Universe of Stars, and that the Stars in turn act upon human life and consciousness. Here we thus find “stellar vision,” and reverence for songs of whales as they reflect the Ineffable. Here is satori with Gaia, the tellurian life web; here is sensitivity to Harmonic Convergence of cosmic cycles which accelerate human consciousness, turning-on the planetary exo-nervous system, and synchronizing resultant tellurian consciousness into telepathic communion with the galactic life wave. Here in the tunnel of Hemethterith we find the vision of the plumed serpent Quetzalcoatl, which is the realization of the Universe as energy in constant copulation, the blinding realization that existence is nothing but the material manifestation of cosmic orgonomic bliss.

Danger lies in naïvete in opening oneself and the planetary life-web to that entity whose dark nature one may be unwilling to admit: the devouring serpent, “Long Mouth Coming.”

The Qliphothic tunnel over which Hemethterith presides is that which leads from the Qliphothic equivalent of “Sphere of the Stars” and “Sphere of the Magus” known as Chokmah, which Qliphothic equivalent is Ghaghiel (Uranus/Beelzebuth). The tunnel of Hemethterith connections Ghaghiel to the Qliphothic equivalent of Tiphereth known as Thagirion (Black Sun/Belphagore).

The delineation provided this tunnel by Cort Williams of the Order of the Ebon Spire and the Herald of the Golden Dawn is short-sighted only in its Anti-Cosmic-ness—he would oppose the demiurge and yet contradictingly accept him at his word that he did indeed create the Cosmos wherein we dwell. As such, he interprets the Qliphothic tunnels and spheres as purely antithetical to their Sephiroithic equivalents, obfuscating the results of his otherwise astounding erudition by focusing too heavily on their negative and anti-Sephirothic characteristics. He writes as follows:

The Qliphothic Tunnel connecting Ghagiel and Thagiriron. Resistance acting upon Disputation. Unbalanced Vitality acting upon Unbalanced Beauty. Corresponds to the Zodiac sign Aries and Atu IV, the Emperor. The qualities of enthusiasm, energy, and leadership here exist in their unbalanced form: Aggression, impatience, despotism. Willfulness as obstinacy, courage as foolhardiness, aggression as brutality. Ambition overreaching itself as a controlled blaze becomes a wildfire. Aries corresponds to the infant Zeus, who was suckled by the she-goat Amalthea. The infusion of primal vitality which allows the young sovereign to grow strong. The Zodiacal Qliphah which corresponds to this tunnel is Behimiron, “the bestial”. Hemhemterith denotes an excess or overflowing of this infusion of bestial strength. The excessive imbibing of this primal “mother’s milk” transforms the newborn Emperor into a true enfant terrible.

This tunnel transmits the unchecked primal vitality of Ghagiel unto Thagiriron, the sphere of Sorath and the Black Sun, via the influence of the fiery Aries. The Black Adept who traverses this tunnel utilizes the powersource of Sol Nigredo to fuel his journey through the desert of the abyss and into the Outer Darkness to acquire the primordial potency of the mighty Qliphah Ghagiel, that he/she too might become an Emperor, a mighty dark sovereign who reigns over and becomes his/her own Universe.

Hemethterith’s numerical correspondences in Gematria and Greek numerology attribute her to the 58th of the 231 Gates, being Gar [Dwelling], the metal (lead) attributed to Saturn, the star known as Naos, chalk/lime, a certain title of Malkuth which translates to “Well”, “pit,” or “spring,” and Ba’al Hammon, as well as to various Hebrew words relating the ambushes and places of dwelling. The Hebrew words for “Sojourner” and “Oppressor” correspond as well.

The Thoth Tarot Trump Correspondence for Hemethterith

The fifteenth tunnel is illuminated by the kala of the Star, known in the Book of Thoth as the ‘Daughter of the Firmament; the Dweller between the waters’. She is also the Mother-aspect of kala 13, the Virgin, and of kala 14, the Whore.

 The Gematria of Hemethterith

The letter assigned to both Mother and Daughter is Hé, the number 5, and the Pentagram is her seal. The two waters are respectively the blood of the virgin daughter and the milk of the enceinte mother.[1]

The Call of Hemethterith

The Guardian of this Pylon is Hemethterith who may be evoked by vibrating her name in the key of ‘A’ sharp, whisperingly, almost inaudibly. Her number is 1054 which is that of the Greek word Naos, meaning a ‘ship’ or Mark’, also the ‘navel’ and hence the womb. Her sigil should be inscribed in lurid red on a glowing red inverted triangle. It suggests a face above three equal-armed crosses arranged in the forms dividing the crosses.

The Relevant Versicle of CCXXXI for Hemethterith

The relevant versicle of CCXXXI reads : « Now riseth Ra-Hoor-Khuit, and dominion is established in the Star of Flame. » This is a reference to the child Horus manifesting in the form of Ra-Hoor-Khuit as the son of the Mother. The animal sacred to this kala is the peacock, one of the sacred symbols of the Yezidi who worship Shaitan under this form. The peacock is also the vahana of Kartikeya, the Hindu Mars, born of the element fire.

The Symbolism of Hemethterith

In alchemichal terms, the 15th kala is that of Sulphur purifying by fire; in other words, the Mother is redeemed by the birth of the son. Note that Path 15 links Chokmah, the Sphere of the Magus, with Tiphareth, the Sphere of the Son.

The Zodiacal/Planetary Correspondence for Hemethterith

The other vehicle sacred to this kala is the Eagle, the Kerub of Aquarius presiding over the 15th Path. Aquarius plays a vital role in the symbolism of the New Aeon. It is the place of the North attributed to Nuith who brings forth the two waters depicted in the sign of Aquarius as two ondulating lines. In the Tarot Trump attributed to this sign a woman is seen pouring the waters from two jars.[2] The seven-pointed Star of Venus above her is identical with the seven-rayed Star of Babalon, the Seal of Set which comprises the Mother and Child in one glyph. This is also the Star of Sothis, the planetary representative of which is Venus. Seven, or Sevekh, was the primal goddess of the seven stars (Ursa Major) of the planisphere, and these strs or rays were the seven heads of the Dragon of the Deep that later appeared in Christian myth as the Beast of the Apocalypse. The Star of the 15th kala is therefore as the height or fulfillment of the Mother. This explains the cryptic utterance that ‘Venus is transcended in Sothis’, for the cryptic utterance that ‘Venus is transcended in Sothis’ for the child (Set) transcends the mother in the sense here indicated.

Chokmah, the Sphere of the Stars, thus pours down its kalas along the 15th Path into the power-zone of the Sun-Son, Ra-Hoor-Khuit (i.e. Tiphareth).

The Magical Siddhis of Hemethterith

The magical siddhi associated with this kala is Astrology which – on the other side of the Tree – has a very different connotation to that which it usually obtains, for it is there the genuine science of the stars or kalas, and differs as much from the popular conception of astrology as does the Tarot from the vulgar playing-card game.

The Energy Behind Hemethterith

The stellar energy that flashes its light through this tunnel is symbolized by the Dog Star, Sothis, and the nature of the child born in this cell of Hemethrerith is satanic in the sense that it is repocreated by a magical method involving the use of the Eye of Set.[3]

The Magick Formula of Hemethterith

The Behemiron, meaning the ‘bestial’, are the qliphoth of this kala, and their name refers to this magical formula.[4]

The African Powers Correspondence for Hemethterith

In the African mythos the goddess Odudua reappears on this Path in the form of the mother or wet nurse, hence the connection with Aquarius and the two waters. The goddess Iyemoja also belongs to this path. Her name means the ‘mother of fish’. She was raped by her son, Orungan,[5] and during her flight from him she fell backwards, her breasts burst open and became two streams.
